SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State softball split its day on Friday with a 5-2 loss to Tula to start the day, but an 8-0 run-rule victory over Northern Colorado to end the day. With the split day the Bobcats now have a 7-2 record on the season.
In the 8-0 run-rule win, the 'Cats saw five different members of its lineup get hits to score five different runners for the runs. That, paired with a one-hit and four strikeout day from freshman pitcher Maddy Azua sealed the victory for the Bobcats.
Against Tulsa it was a 3-run top of the second inning for the visitors that gave them a lead for most of the game.
