Series Opener Goes Against Bobcats

SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State baseball team (9-13, 0-4 Sun Belt) fell in the series opener 6-5 to ULM (10-8, 3-1 Sun Belt) Friday at Bobcat Ballpark in part to a controversial call at the plate.

(0-4) took the loss as he was tagged for six runs, three of them earned, in six innings while striking out five. Cam Barlow (3-2) picked up the win as he went five innings with six strikeouts and gave up two runs on four hits. Carson Orton pitched two scoreless innings to close out the game and earn his second save of the season.
