SAN MARCOS, Texas – Thirteen former Texas State baseball players are currently playing professional baseball with two of them competing in MLB.
Kyle Finnegan, Washington Nationals
Finnegan is off to a strong start in the backend of the bullpen for the Nationals. He has recorded 15 saves, the fifth most in MLB and second most among National League relievers, while also going 1-3 with a 1.64 ERA and 0.95 WHIP. The right-hander has limited opponents to just eight hits and three runs since the beginning of April.
Paul Goldschmidt, St. Louis Cardinals
The 2022 NL MVP struggled for the first month and a half of the season.
