NEW ORLEANS – Junior Daylan Pena helped lead Texas State to four victories last week with her performance garnering Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week honors. It is the first weekly award in his career and he is the second Bobcat to receive the accolade after Chase Mora claimed it two weeks ago.
Pena paced TXST with a .444 average (8-for-18) with three home runs, nine RBI, five runs scored and one stolen base. He also posted a .565 OBP and 1.111 SLG%.
The Corpus Christi, Texas native had a 2-for-4 day against HCU with a double and two RBI.
