SAN MARCOS, Texas – Former Texas State University women's golf standouts Lora Assad and Krista Puisite begin play Thursday in the first of four rounds of LPGA qualifying school's second stage, contested at the Plantation Golf and Country Club in Venice, Fla.
Assad and Puisite are among the 193 players vying to advance to the third stage of qualifying school. The LPGA will advance the top 80 players (and ties) from this week's tournament to the qualifying's third and final stage at LPGA International in Dayton Beach, Fla. All other players who complete the 72-hole tournament will receive Symetra Tour status for the 2017 season.
