SAN MARCOS, Texas – For the third consecutive year, Texas State (3-0) swept its opening weekend series after defeating Binghamton (0-3) 7-4 on Sunday afternoon at Bobcat Ballpark.
Austin Eaton (1-0) went six innings with three strikeouts while giving up a run on five hits to earn the victory. Take the loss was Colin Rhein (0-1) after he allowed six runs on seven hits and two walks in 3.2 innings.
Pitching an inning of relief apiece was Ryan Lawton (1 K), Cameron O'Banan and Braylin Timmons (2 K).
At the plate, Ethan Farries was 3-for-4 with three RBI and a triple.
