SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State softball team (26-8, 8-0 SBC) defeated Lamar (20-17, 6-6 SLC) 6-2 on Wednesday evening inside Bobcat Softball Stadium. Freshman pitcher Meagan King earned her first career complete game in the Bobcat victory.
"It was great to get seven innings from a freshman, especially during a midweek game," head coach Ricci Woodard said. "We were hoping to stretch her out at some point this season, and today was her day. The offense supported her, but was inconsistent. That is typical of a midweek game."
Ariel Ortiz started the offensive output for the Bobcats, plating Jaclyn Molenaar and Christiana McDowell on an RBI double over the left fielder's head.
