AUSTIN, Texas – Junior guard Mason Harrell scored a team-high 14 points, but Texas State fell at No. 13/12 Texas, 74-53 Wednesday night at the Frank Erwin Center.
The Bobcats (3-2) competed tough throughout the game, but mainly in the second half where they outscored the nationally-ranked Longhorns (5-1) through the first media timeout. However, the Texas State offense would struggle as they shot 36.1 percent from the floor (22-of-61) and a season-low 18.2 percent from 3-point range (2-of-11). Defensively, Texas State forced 14 turnovers and had 10 steals and six blocks, but only recorded four points off of those turnovers and had a season-high 16 turnovers of their own that the Horns turned into 23 points.
