SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State scored twice in the ninth but fell a run shy of defeating Louisiana Saturday afternoon a Bobcat Ballpark. The Ragin' Cajuns ended up taking the series finale 7-6.
With the result, the Bobcats drop to 15-13 overall and 4-5 in the Sun Belt Conference while Louisiana is now 20-8 on the year and 8-1 in league play.
"It was a battle. We had a lot of opportunities that we left out there. It tends to happen when it comes down to one swing in the ninth, but people forget about the second, third or fifth inning when you have bases loaded or guys on second and third," said head coach Steven Trout.
