SAN MARCOS, Texas — The women's basketball regular season that was the 2020-21 edition has drawn to a close and now the Texas State team begins its preparation for this year's Sun Belt Conference Championships.
Texas State (10-10, 7-8) will enter the postseason tournament as the No. 4 seed out of the West Division and will face the fifth-seeded Georgia Southern Eagles out of the East Division on Friday, March 5 at 11:30 a.m. It'll be the first time the Bobcats have faced the Eagles since Texas State won, 72-68, on Feb. 27, 2020.
The matchup will be the first for the Bobcats this season against a conference team east of the Mississippi River as the Sun Belt Conference opted for East and West Division this season due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
