SAN MARCOS – Texas State (8-12, 1-8 SBC) scored a season-best 31 points in the fourth quarter and battled back from a second half deficit to defeat UTA (12-9, 6-3 SBC), 72-55, on Saturday afternoon inside Strahan Arena. Bobcat sophomore forward Da'Nasia Hood dropped a career-high 28 points and was a perfect seven-for-seven from three-point distance.
TXST trailed UTA 44-41 entering the fourth quarter and played its best basketball of the year in the final 10 minutes. A large 19-1 run by the hosts to begin the fourth quarter opened the floodgates and allowed Texas State to coast to its first Sun Belt victory of the campaign.
