Miscues and Walks Prove Costly

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Errors and free bases proved to be costly for Texas State on Friday night in a 7-0 loss to Coastal Carolina at Bobcat Ballpark in the series opener. The Bobcats ended up walking or plunking 12 Chanticleers and committed two errors in the contest.

With the result, TXST is now 11-14 on the season and 3-4 in the Sun Belt Conference while CCU improved to 19-7 overall and 5-2 in league play.

Picking up the win on the mound was Jacob Morrison (5-0) after throwing seven shutout innings with 10 strikeouts and scattering five hits.
