SAN MARCOS, Texas – Coming off just the second 20-win season as a Division I program, the Texas State men's basketball team held its first official practice Monday afternoon in one of the Strahan Coliseum practice gyms to official kickoff the 2017-18 season.
The Bobcats ended last year with a 22-14 record, reached the Sun Belt Conference Tournament finals and advanced to the quarterfinals of the CollegeInsider.com Tournament in head coach Danny Kaspar's fourth season in charge. TXST also finished in a tie for third in the SBC regular season standings with an 11-7 record, the best mark since joining the league.
