SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State baseball team dropped a 6-1 decision to Texas in a midweek non-conference clash Tuesday night at Bobcat Ballpark.
The Bobcats (14-9-1) were playing in front 2,547 fans, which marked the eighth-largest crowd in school history. The triumph helped the Longhorns improve to 16-10 on the year.
Both teams were cruising along unscathed until the visitors were able to find three tallies in the top of the fourth inning. A 1-hour, 14-minute rain delay halted proceedings in the top of the fifth, and the Longhorns would go on to outscore TXST 3-1 the rest of the way.
