NEW ORLEANS — For her contributions on the diamond throughout last week's action, Texas State senior first baseman Samara Lagway has been named the Sun Belt Conference's Player of the Week, the league announced Tuesday morning.
"I could not be prouder of this young lady," said Texas State softball head coach Ricci Woodard. "Samara has fought so hard for this success, and we could not be happier for her."
Lagway becomes the first Texas State softball student-athlete to win the league's player of the week award since Sara Vanderford capped the final week of the 2021 regular season with her league-high third honor.
