Ivey with 25 points leads Akron past Detroit Mercy 71-59

SAN ANTONIO -- Nijal Pearson hit five 3-pointers and scored 26 points and Jaylen Shead hit 1 of 2 free throws with 1 second left to send Texas State to a 69-68 victory over Texas San Antonio on Saturday.

Tre'Larenz Nottingham's layup with 1:11 left to play gave the Bobcats (7-1) a 65-63 lead, but Jhivvan Jackson sank a 3-pointer and hit two free throws to put the Roadrunners (2-6) on top 68-65 with 24 seconds remaining. Pearson buried a 3 to pull the Bobcats even with 13 seconds left.
