SAN MARCOS, Texas – Texas State football added two new defensive coaches to its staff on Tuesday as Matthew Gregg was named the cornerbacks coach and Dexter McCoil, Sr. the safeties coach, head coach G.J. Kinne announced.
Both Gregg and McCoil, Sr. arrive at Texas State after helping Kinne and Incarnate Word win a Southland Conference championship and make the program's first ever appearance in the FCS Playoff semifinals in 2022.
"Matthew and Dexter are great young coaches that we are excited to bring to Texas State," said Kinne. "Coach Gregg is an unbelievable coach and recruiter with experience at the high school, junior college and Division I levels, all in the state of Texas.
