CONWAY, S.C. – All of Texas State's runs in the series opener Thursday night came off home runs by and Thursday night at Springs Brooks Stadium. Coastal Carolina ended up taking the game 10-5.
With the setback, the Bobcats drop to 21-32 overall and 9-13 in the Sun Belt conference while the Chanticleers are now 24-23 on the year and 7-12 in conference play.
Suffering the loss was (4-7) after surrendering four runs on six hits and four walks while striking out four in 2.2 innings. Teddy Sharkey (4-1) was credited with the win as he threw two scoreless frames with two strikeouts in relief.
