Texas State may have been a few feet away from finally upsetting the Texas Longhorns.
Head coach Ty Harrington certainly thinks so.
With the bases loaded and two outs in the ninth inning of a tied game, Granger Studdard could have been a hero once again. He gave the Bobcats a chance as the junior lashed a 2-1 pitch from hard-throwing UT right-hander Chase Shugard up the middle.
Unfortunately for Texas State, Studdard's well-struck ground ball was directly at Longhorn second baseman Joe Baker who collected himself and threw out the Buda native to send Tuesday's tilt into extra innings.
