Feels like the First Time: Volleyball conducts spring offseason for first time since 2019

The joy of doing an activity for the first time is unmatched.

Whether it's riding a roller coaster, trying a new dish, or driving a new car, once the adrenaline sets in and fills one's veins, excitement, then, quickly begins to flow throughout the human body.. From there, it's time to hang on for the ride.

There's nothing like it.

For 11 student-athletes within the Texas State volleyball program, February 2022 brought them something new. Something they haven't done in college before. Something they'd be doing for the first time.

Spring workouts.

Tessa Marshall and Caitlan Buettner were two of the four-member freshman class — Courtney Heiser and Kayla Tello rounded out the foursome — when the wheel started for the 2019 Texas State volleyball squad that went 24-9 on the year, won another Sun Belt Conference championship and made another NCAA Tournament appearance.
