SAN MARCOS, TX — When the ball is rolling, the ball is rolling and Saturday afternoon, the ball was rolling in the right-centerfield gap at the end of Texas State's 2-1 win over Troy courtesy of Caitlyn Rogers.
"That's just a team out there which is confident in right they're doing," said Texas State softball head coach Ricci Woodard. "We played a really well opponent today. I thought (Jessica) Mullins pitched a really good game today, too."
After Piper Randolph made a diving catch in left-centerfield for the second out in the top of the seventh to preserve a 1-1 game, Jessica Mullins (22-11) set down Kelly Horne on the next pitch to send the bring the Texas State (31-17, 15-8) offense back to the plate.
