SAN MARCOS, Texas – Eleven runs scored over the first three innings helped Texas State (15-10) go on and win its third consecutive midweek game with a 12-6 victory over UTRGV (12-11) Tuesday night at Bobcat Ballpark.
While only recording seven hits as a team, the Bobcats also drew 11 walks and were plunked twice. Every TXST batter was walked at least once with two free passes being worked by Rashawn Galloway, Alex Gonzales and August Ramirez.
Alec Patino was the lone batter with multiple hits as the senior went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs and one double.
