SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State baseball team lost 7-6 in 11 innings to Georgia Southern in a Sun Belt Conference game Saturday evening at Bobcat Ballpark.
The Bobcats (22-20-1, 10-10 SBC) fell to 1-2 in extra-inning contests this season, while the Eagles (21-21, 11-8 SBC) evened up the weekend series at one game each.
GS scored first in the top of the third, but the Bobcats threw up a three-spot in the home half of the frame to pull ahead 3-1. The visitors then erupted for four in the seventh and an additional insurance marker in the eighth to land on top 6-3, but Texas State quickly tied the game in the bottom of the eighth with three runs of its own.
