MONROE, La. – Melanie Duron and Chris Preddie both secured gold medals on day two of the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Duron placed first in the finals of the women's shot put, with a mark of 16.67m/54-8.25. Her season-best mark set the facility record for ULM's Brown Stadium and earned 10 points for the women's team.
Preddie, for the second-straight year, took home gold in the final of the men's long jump. He recorded a mark of 7.73/25-4.5 and had the furthest jump in the field by over a foot.
