Comeback Falls Short for Bobcats

SAN MARCOS, Texas – A ninth inning comeback fell short for Texas State (7-10) on Sunday in an 8-7 setback to Houston (10-5) at Bobcat Ballpark.

(2-2) suffered the loss after surrendering three runs on four hits in an inning of relief. Jaycob Deese (2-1) picked up the win as he threw three innings of relief and gave up just one run. Earning his first save of the season was Derrick Cherry. He struck out four in three innings while giving up a run on three walks and two hits.
