College Baseball: Texas State's Tanner Hill slugs his way to All-American status

Ty Harrington has said the one thing that most people don’t appreciate about Tanner Hill is the slugger’s overall athleticism.

Sure, Hill is known more for his brute strength. And rightfully so as Hill has pulverized a few baseballs over the years — he ripped the cover off one earlier this season.

But, Hill’s transcendent 2016 season at the plate — one where he clubbed 15 home runs to go with 18 doubles and 77 hits — often overshadowed the San Marcos native’s exploits as an all-around player.

Hill, after all, started 58 of the Bobcats’ 59 games in 2016, including 24 contests at catcher and 34 at first base.
