Tyler Stroup opened the door for Texas State.

The Bobcats walked right on in.

After a single off the bat of Granger Studdard rolled under Stroup's glove in left field and went straight to the wall, Teddy Hoffman didn't let Appalachian State off the hook.

Hoffman pulled into second base for a stand-up RBI double in the sixth inning as Texas State rode a four-run frame to surge past the Mountaineers en route to a 4-2 victory on Friday afternoon inside Bobcat Ballpark.

"We weren't worried at all today. We were just waiting for our time," Studdard said.
