Pasquale Mazzoccoli would have preferred a stress-free inning.
Texas State head coach Ty Harrington undoubtedly felt the same way.
Neither of them got their wish, but the desired result still came to fruition as Mazzoccoli — albeit with some help from his infielders — pitched around a bases-loaded jam and the Bobcats survived for a 7-6 victory over Washington State on Sunday afternoon inside Bobcat Ballpark.
"I was really in a bad spot," said Mazzoccoli who recorded his first career save and at the very least clinched a series victory for Texas State (3-0) against the visiting Cougars (0-3).
