There is little doubt that Lucas Humpal and Grant Bennett are two of the premier pitchers in the Sun Belt.
Yet, both aces are all too often overshadowed by two other names, those being Gunner Leger and Kevin Hill.
Leger and Hill, who toe the rubber for Louisiana-Lafayette and South Alabama, respectively (the regular season co-Sun Belt champions), were the clear frontrunners for conference pitcher of the year. Leger was the earned run average leader for the regular year (2.09) and Hill dwarfed every one else in the league in strikeouts (117).
