Texas State did just about everything right for seven innings against Louisiana-Lafayette.
Cory Geisler, aided by some help from the wind, stymied the Ragin' Cajuns (he retired 16 straight batters at one point) and the bottom of the order created enough offense against freshman righty Nick Lee to stake the Bobcats to a lead.
With next to nothing to show for itself against Geisler, UL Lafayette resorted to small ball, scoring all three of its eighth-inning runs via the bunt, and eventually handed Texas State a demoralizing 4-2 loss during a winner's bracket game at the Sun Belt Tournament inside Bobcat Ballpark.
