NEW ORLEANS – After a career performance on Saturday, Katelyn Chrisman was named the Sun Belt Conference's Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday. It is the first weekly honor in her career and first by a Bobcat this season.
Chrisman made a career-high nine saves in the Bobcats conference opening victory over Arkansas State. Five of her stops came over the final 45 minutes of the contest.
The nine saves are the most by a TXST goalkeeper in a Sun Belt match since 2018 and the highest total at a home league contest since 2017.
