CONWAY, S.C. – The No. 30-ranked Texas State baseball team lost 8-0 to No. 27 Coastal Carolina in the first game of a weekend Sun Belt Conference series Friday night at Springs Brooks Stadium.
The Bobcats (14-6-1, 3-1 SBC) dropped their first league game of the season, while the Chanticleers (17-7, 4-0 SBC) remained unblemished in conference action.
CCU got on the board with solo runs in the third and fourth innings and then took a commanding 6-0 lead with a four-spot in the fifth frame. They added additional tallies in the sixth and seventh innings to complete the scoring.
