SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State baseball team (12-4) completed the series sweep of Bethune-Cookman (5-11) with a 4-3 victory Sunday afternoon at Bobcat Ballpark. The win also extended the Bobcats winning streak to five games.
It is the best start for TXST through 16 games since 2016. For head coach Steven Trout, the record matches the best start for a first-year head in program history (Howard Bushong; 1994).
Otto Wofford (1-0) earned his first career win as he threw two scoreless innings of relief with two strikeouts. Earning his fourth save of season was Tristan Stirvors.
