LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Ja'Kayla Bowie shifted her performance in Texas State's 63-49 loss at Little Rock as the junior guard from Tyler, Texas scored a career-high 14 points and knocked down a career-high two 3-pointers on the afternoon.
Bowie wasted little time in getting into the scoring column as her second shot attempt of the game fell through the net and gave Texas State (7-8, 4-6) a quick 2-0 lead less than two minutes into the game. Bowie's basket, off a Kennedy Taylor assist, sparked a 6-0 TXST scoring run that was ultimately pushed to 8-2 advantage following a Da'Nasia Hood layup.
