SAN MARCOS, Texas – In front of the 4th largest crowd in Bobcat Stadium history of 1,027 people, Texas State softball was stopped by #8 Texas. Despite a close game through the opening four innings, a three-run fifth inning by the Longhorns was enough to shut down the Bobcats hope of a comeback.
Tori McCann started off in the circle where she didn't allow a hit in the opening inning. From there, the Bobcats got a hit in the first plate appearance from Piper Randolph. She advanced when Sara Vanderford was walked and the pair advanced on Anna Jones ground out.
