BOONE, N.C. – A four-game road winning streak came to a close for Texas State (15-10, 8-6 Sun Belt) as Appalachian State (14-11, 8-6 Sun Belt) escaped with a 60-57 victory Saturday afternoon at the Holmes Center.
The Bobcats saw their 18-point lead in the first half get trimmed down to five before the break, and despite holding the lead for majority of the half, the visiting team got cold and the Mountaineers closed the game on a 12-2 run, highlighted by junior guard Justin Forrest's 3-pointer from the top of the key to seal the game with 19 ticks left.
