SAN Marcos, Texas – Texas State turned defense into offense and outscored Texas A&M – Corpus Christi 19-5 in points off turnovers to down the Islanders 55-48 inside Strahan Arena on Saturday afternoon. Sophomore forward posted a season-high 19 points to lead the Bobcats (4-2) in scoring. Texas State snapped the Islanders' (4-3) three-game winning streak and moved to 4-0 at home.
Despite not scoring until the 3:55 mark of the second quarter, Texas State ended the period on an 11-2 run to hold a 22-17 lead at halftime. The scrappy TXST defense forced Texas A&M – Corpus Christi into 17 first half turnovers, but were only able to generate eight points off the Islanders miscues.
