SAN MARCOS, Texas – The Texas State football team played with a lot of energy when the Bobcats donned shoulder pads and helmets for the first time in their fall camp on Wednesday.
"There was a lot of energy and I thought the kids really flew around," head coach Everett Withers said. "Obviously, the first day with any kind of pads on was probably a lot like you think. It's not going to be pretty on tape, but I thought the energy level was good."
The Bobcats will practice in helmet and shoulder pads again on Thursday before donning full pads for the first time this fall on Friday.
