NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference showed Texas State plenty of respect in the annual preseason poll of conference coaches. Despite finishing the regular season tied for sixth in the SBC last season, a late-season surge from the Bobcats influenced the conference to tab Texas State as third in the SBC Preseason Poll. In addition to that, Tanner Hill and Cory Geisler were named to the 2016 Preseason All-Sun Belt Baseball Team.
As expected, the Ragin' Cajuns of UL Lafayette were chosen first in the preseason poll, followed by South Alabama.
