LEXINGTON, Ky. – For the first time in program history, the Texas State volleyball team was recognized in the United State Marine Corps (USMC) and the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the 2019-2020 season on Monday, July 20. The Bobcats concluded the year with 3.6 grade-point average (GPA).
The total teams listed was a record-breaking 1,313, including 227 Division I programs, which is also a record. Both marks shatter last year's totals of 1,125 teams and 189 Division I programs. In all three NCAA Women's Divisions, over 50 percent of the members were honored, led by 68 percent by Division I programs.
