FOLEY, Ala. – An unlucky bounce halfway through the second overtime period ended the Texas State soccer team's season in heartbreaking fashion in the Sun Belt Conference quarterfinals. The Bobcats fell 2-1 at the Foley Sports Tourism Complex Wednesday evening.
TXST ends its season 10-6-1 overall while the Chanticleers are now 10-7-1.
Coming out aggressive on the opening kickoff, the Bobcats controlled possession for the early part of the match, Kassi Hormuth found the back of the net three seconds into the fifth minute. The SBC Offensive Player of the Year knocked the ball in after a scrum in front of the net between Sydney Kammer and two CCU defenders.
