SAN MARCOS, Texas – Behind a total team effort that saw an offensive, defensive and special teams touchdown, Texas State clinched its first winning season in nine years with a 52-44 win over South Alabama in the regular season finale at Bobcat Stadium on Saturday.
Texas State (7-5, 4-4 SBC), which will learn its bowl fate in the coming days, had a fumble return for a touchdown for its first score, a 100-yard kick return by Kole Wilson, and five total touchdowns on offense, including three thrown by TJ Finley, to put away the Jaguars (6-6, 4-4 SBC).
