LAFAYETTE, La. — Da'Nasia Hood's potential game-winning 3-point basket with 2.6 seconds left in the game was centimeters to the right of going through the net as Texas State ultimately fell to Louisiana, 66-64, Friday night.
After Louisiana (6-5, 5-1) converted two layup attempts within the game's opening minute, Texas State (6-6, 3-4) responded with a 9-0 scoring run fuel by two baskets from Ja'Kayla Bowie and Avionne Alexander to start the Bobcats' confidence. Even after the Ragin' Cajuns made it a one-possession game at 11-8, Hood, who finished with a game-high 17 points, capitalized off a Skyler Goodwin turnover and converted a layup to give TXST a two-possession lead heading into the game's second quarter.
