BEAUMONT, Texas – The Texas State women's golf team topped the field at the Cardinal Challenge to win its second tournament of the 2024-25 season, while Yvonne Chamness earned individual medalist honors for the first time this year.
The Bobcats won the event with a 31-stroke advantage finishing 18-over 882 across 54 holes. Midwestern State finished second (+48) and host Lamar third (+59).
"I'm super proud of the whole team for winning," head coach Par Nilsson said. "Overall it was a solid tournament for everyone."
Having previously earned a pair of runner-up finishes this season, Chamness turned in her first-career win after opening with rounds of even par through 36 holes and closing the event out at +2 on the final 18.
