LAFAYETTE, La. – On the second day of competition at the Sun Belt Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships, the Bobcats brought home a gold medal, three silver medals, two bronze medals and advanced numerous student-athletes to the finals on Sunday.
Chelsie Decoud and Courtney Johnson dominated the women's high jump at the SBC Championships. Decoud took gold with a first-place jump of 1.79 meters (5-10.5) while Johnson achieved a career-best height of 1.76 meters (5-9.25) to take second. In four conference track meets in her career, two indoor and two outdoor, Decoud has now taken gold three of four times by winning high jump championships in the 2015 SBC Indoor, the 2016 SBC Indoor and now the 2016 SBC Outdoor Championships.
