MOBILE, Ala. – The Texas State soccer team stunned the five-time defending Sun Belt Conference Champions South Alabama 1-0 Sunday afternoon at the Cage. It was the Bobcats' first-ever win over the Jaguars in the seventh meeting all-time.
With the victory, TXST is at .500 on the season at 5-5-0 and sit atop the Sun Belt standings at 3-0-0 while USA drops to 3-7-0 overall and 1-2-0 in conference play.
TXST got onto the scoreboard early in the ninth minute that began with a through ball from Jordan Kondikoff up the middle. Kaylee Davis used her speed to outrace the defender to the ball and blasted a shot past the goalkeeper's hands into the upper left corner.
