SAN MARCOS, Texas– Texas State (1-0) gave Bobcat Nation a 98-59 victory over Mary Hardin-Baylor on Wednesday night at Strahan Arena.
The Bobcats had a good offensive game as they shot 53.5 percent in the game on 38-of-71 shooting. TXST won the rebounding battle 49-31, including a 15-7 margin on the offensive boards. Defensively the team held UMHB to a 35.6 field goal percentage, forced 22 turnovers and logged 12 steals in the victory.
"I thought tonight was more about us than anything else," said interim head coach Terrence Johnson. "We have gone through a lot of adversity already this season.
