SAN MARCOS, Texas – Making a transition to something new is never easy, but first-year head coach Jake Spavital thought the Texas State football team had a good first day when he and his staff began installing the foundations for the Bobcats' new offensive and defensive systems Sunday afternoon at Bobcat Stadium.
"Overall it was a good practice," Spavital said. "Normally with a transition and everything being new, these first practices can be all over the place, but the kids ran around today and we were able to get a lot accomplished."
New offensive coordinator Bob Stitt "threw a lot of stuff" at the offensive players during the first day as he began installing Texas State's new offense.
