SAN MARCOS, Texas - "Today was a normal first day in pads."
That is how Texas State's head football coach Everett Withers described the Bobcats' first spring practice in full pads on Saturday.
Withers and his coaching staff are using the first four-to-five practices teaching the current roster how he expects them to practice, along with offensive and defensive fundamentals and techniques.
"Some of the technique and fundamentals go away that is how it usually happens," Withers said in describing the first day of pads. "Some of them get excited and some get scared.
