NORFOLK, Va. – Both teams claimed a one-run victory on the day as Texas State (29-16, 12-9 Sun Belt) and Old Dominion (28-15, 11-10 Sun Belt) split a doubleheader Saturday at Bud Metheny Stadium. The Monarchs took game one 2-1 and the Bobcats come out on top 12-11 in 10 innings in the night cap to take the series victory.
Game 1
(5-2) took the loss after allowing two runs on three hits over five innings while striking out five. Sam Armstrong (8-1) recorded four strikeouts in six innings with only a run given to pick up the win while John Holobetz earned his fifth save after throwing the final three frames.
